Port Geomatics has developed a work plan to develop and implement a Digital Land Records System that will be accessed through the Port’s GIS. This property mapping work relies heavily on archived land records maintained by Port Geomatics. Much of the work performed by Port Geomatics focuses on property mapping in support of generating revenue through rental agreements on parcels of Port-owned property. Nearly all surveying and mapping is tied to the National Spatial Reference System (NSRS). THE TEAMThe Port of Oakland’s Geomatics Unit (Port Geomatics) provides accurate and authoritative geospatial data deliverables in support of the Port’s core aviation, maritime, and commercial real estate functions. When assigned the responsible charge of any project or program, the Chief of Field Party will provide professional supervision, specific direction and training to all assigned project staff and will participate in the performance of the work. Under direction, the Chief of Field Party directs and reviews the work of assigned staff and consultants and assists the Port Land Surveyor in the overall planning and organization of mission critical programs.
